              FAQ – Atrax EOD & C-IED robot.

What missions is the Atrax designed for?

The Atrax is built for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), counter-IED tasks, suspicious-package inspection, confined-space reconnaissance and hazardous indoor or urban interventions.

What is the maximum reach and lifting capability of the SH10 manipulator arm?

The SH10 motorized 5-axis arm offers up to 1,200 mm reach, with 12 kg bent lift and 6 kg straight lift, and a 200 mm opening clamp for object handling during EOD operations.

How far can the Atrax operate from its operator?

With its dual-band 2.4 GHz control link, the Atrax achieves up to 500 m line-of-sight control range, and up to 1 km+ with mesh relay support.

              How is the Atrax controlled?

Atrax is operated using the Shark Station, providing dual-camera HD video feeds, assisted driving, integrated GPS, obstacle alerts and stable links for mission-ready remote control.

What is the autonomy of the Atrax?

Each extractable 7S4P lithium-ion battery provides up to 6 hours of runtime. Batteries can be swapped quickly for continuous missions.

How long does it take to recharge the batteries?

Atrax batteries recharge in 2 h 45 using the supplied direct charger. Optional docking systems can streamline multi-battery rotations.

Can the Atrax climb stairs or obstacles?

Yes. Thanks to its tracked chassis and patented flipper system, the Atrax can climb standard indoor stairs, handle level changes, and clear obstacles up to 200 mm.

What are the dimensions and weight of the Atrax?

The Atrax base platform measures 1115 × 480 × 390 mm (excluding antennas) and weighs 75 kg with arm and video turret.

Does the Atrax support wired control for RF-denied environments?

Yes. The wired transmission kit offers 100, 200 or 300 m cable options, ensuring safe control in jamming, underground, or electromagnetic-shielded areas.

What sensors and cameras are available on the Atrax?

The Atrax can be equipped with:

              • HD front and rear cameras
              • 360° day/night turret
              • Additional cameras for inspection
              • Sensor tray for CBRN or multi-sensor payloads
How rugged and weather-resistant is the Atrax?

The chassis and electronics are IP65-rated, resistant to dust and water jets, ensuring reliability in harsh or contaminated environments.

Can the Atrax operate in confined indoor spaces?

Yes. Its compact tracked form factor, wide camera coverage, obstacle alerts and precise manipulator allow safe operation in tight areas such as hallways, doorframes, stairwells and vehicles.

Is the Atrax suitable for CBRN-related missions?

Using the dedicated sensor tray, the Atrax can carry CBRN probes, air-sampling tools or custom sensors, supporting reconnaissance before personnel entry.
