Published on 11 August 2022, the article – entitled “Forest fires: how is Tech helping firefighters?” – highlights the essential role of technology in fighting forest fires. Alongside some ultra-innovative start-ups, Maddyness presents Shark Robotics and in particular the Colossus fire-fighting robot.
“On the ground, the Colossus robot from Shark Robotics is a major ally for the emergency services: reputed to be the most powerful unmanned ground vehicle in Europe, it assists firefighters with particularly physical tasks. Weighing in at 500 kilos, it can carry up to a tonne of equipment, locate bodies using its sensors, detect gas leaks and identify whether or not a structure is in danger of collapsing. This robot was used, for example, during the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.”
